We all have been living in very trying times, and the day-to-day uncertainty can promote a significant degree of stress in our lives. Although the delivery of our services has changed, we continue to provide the structure needed to support long-term sobriety and mental health awareness.
The pandemic and resulting restrictions have been hard for everyone and people trying to get sober have been no exception. Addiction is a disease of isolation. Guidelines about social distancing and avoiding gatherings have exacerbated feelings of loneliness for many. An already difficult task may seem downright impossible right now.
Around Hillcrest, my favorite day of the week is Sunday (known by many as “Sunday Funday”). In the afternoon, a lot of people are out and about enjoying the many restaurants and bars in the area without the expectations of a Friday or Saturday night out.
