Godmother of drag: Michelle Visage

Michelle Visage doesn't care if you like her or not, that's on you. But she can help.

It takes a lot to be a drag mother, and even though Michelle Visage is not a drag queen she could be deemed their Godmother. She certainly knows how to mentor them, protect them, help them flourish, but she doesn’t care if they like the sting of her words or not, "Sometimes they’re too belligerent," she tells me.

Theater Review: “Damn Yankees”

Katie Sapper (Gloria Thorpe) and the ensemble of Damn Yankees.

Remember Faust, who sold his soul to the devil for knowledge and worldly pleasures? Well, wouldn’t you know, somebody saw a baseball story in that.

The trio of hard-working ladies in “9 to 5: The Musical” have one of those bosses, and they’re here to take charge of him and the office through Feb. 26 in San Diego Musical Theatre’s 10th season opener.

Theater Review: “42nd Street”

The Company from Spreckels Theatre's production of "42nd Street."

Get out your tap shoes and your dreams of stardom (well, metaphorically anyway): “42nd Street” is back in town, that tap-happy show that will renew your faith in the triumph of good and the dreams of youth.
