The purpose of PFLAG San Diego's scholarship program is to recognize outstanding LGBT seniors in high school, and undergraduate and graduate students; to encourage them to continue post-secondary education; and to promote a positive image of LGBT youth.

The scholarship is available to individuals who identify as LGBT with a permanent mobility disability.

Each year, PFLAG San Diego and its collaborators provide thousands of dollars of scholarships to LGBT students pursuing higher education. Minimum scholarship amounts are $1,000, and there are multiple scholarship categories that students can apply for.

PFLAG San Diego has teamed up with its members, non-profit supporters of LGBT youth, and individual sponsors to offer college scholarships to San Diego County residents.

Applicants will be accepted from college-bound high school seniors and current undergraduates, and are asked to write an essay describing their leadership goals and experiences related HIV and AIDS.

PFLAG San Diego has a number of scholarships available for local students. Applications must be submitted by April 1.

By filling out one applications, students can apply for over 100 different scholarship programs.

The Point Foundation is the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ students of merit.

PFLAG's scholarship program is in its 15th year of supporting San Diego students.
