Editors note: This year's San Diego Pride weekend may have looked different than we are used to, but it will still be one to add to the long legacy of pride celebrations in the city. Longtime activist Nicole Murray-Ramirez shared his history of San Diego's pride celebration with us and we are publishing it below.

In honor of San Diego Pride weekend, a pride flag will be raised at the County of San Diego Administration Center for the first time ever. Supervisor Nathan Fletcher will join San Diego Pride, and the County's LGBTQ & Allies Employee Resource Group for a ceremony on Friday, July 17th at 10:30 am.

Sycuan Casino Resort will fly the pride flag over its property on Friday, July 10 in honor San Diego Pride month. This will be the first time a southern California tribal casino has raised a pride flag on a tribal reservation.

San Diego Pride declares our opposition to the state-sanctioned violence, murder, and terror being perpetrated by law enforcement agencies across the country.

Memorial Day weekend has come and gone - and it sure was like none we've ever experienced before. This year's summer kick-off didn't include any big parties, traveling was only for essential purposes, and the beaches were only open for activities like walking, jogging and swimming.
