On National Nurses Day, the International Imperial Court System announced the creation of a new honor to recognize the work of nurses, hospital workers, and other further responders. The award will be called the International Florence Nightingale Beacon of Light Citation.

A virtual memorial will be held this Friday, May 8 at 10 am to honor the life of Richard "Omar" Lowry, who passed away Monday morning after a long battle with an illness. The virtual event will include the lowering of the Hillcrest Pride Flag to half staff in Lowry's honor.

The International Imperial Court System has launched the International Betsy Ross Citation to honor individuals and organizations who have given of their time to sew masks and other personal protective equipment for use by the public and medical professionals.

Imperial Court distributes grocery store gift cards to workers affected by COVID-19

The Imperial Court de San Diego has established an emergency fund to assist local community members whose livelihoods have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Over $5,000 worth of grocery store and food gift cards have been purchased or donated for distribution to those in need.

The city was still in shock this week after the Sunday morning shooting in a San Diego County synagogue.

The attack left one person dead and several others injured.

This crime sparked concern by City Commissioner Nicole Murray Ramirez who started a campaign to raise money for armed guards to patrol The San Diego LGBT Community Center.

Nicole Murray-Ramirez sat among dignitaries and other public figures as Matthew Shpeard's ashes were interred at the  Gothic National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

This past Friday, Matthew Shepard's remains were interred at the crypt of Washington National Cathedral, City Commissioner Nicole Murray-Ramirez was in attendance representing the City of San Diego. 

Shepard was brutally beaten and tortured and left for dead, tied to a fence in Laramie Wyoming 20 years ago this month, he passed away six days later, on Oct. 12, he was 21-years-old.
