A big night at the Nicky Awards

The community showed up for a night of appreciation and awards for the 43rd annual Nicky Awards.

Sunday night was filled with big hair, big surprises and some of the biggest members and allies of the LGBT community for the 43rd annual Nicky Awards which took place at The Marriott Courtyard at Liberty Station. 

Empress Nicole in SF for plaque dedication

The Queen Mother of the Americas, Empress Nicole honors founder Jose Julio Sarria, Empress I of San Francisco..

City Commissioner Nicole Murray Ramirez was in San Francisco for three days for a dedication ceremony at the San Francisco Rainbow Honor Walk in the Castro district. 

The Queen Mother of the Americas, Empress Nicole was asked to speak at the unveiling of the plaque in honor of founder Julio Sarria, Empress I of San Francisco.

Nicole Murray-Ramirez honored by Canadian government

Nicole Murray-Ramirez was honored by the Canadian government in Alberta last week.

Our very own San Diego Commissioner Nicole Murray-Ramirez was in the Great White North last week.

He met with Alberta government officials who recognized him once again for his over 45-years of North American LGBT activism and leadership.

Activist Murray-Ramirez gets his own day in Massachusetts

San Diego's very own “Mayor of Hillcrest” was honored in Holyoke Massachusetts last week by having April 22, decreed by the city’s mayor, Alex B. Morse, as “Nicole Murray-Ramirez” Day.  

The iconic San Diego activist’s efforts have made many changes in the LGBT community over the last 45 years locally, nationally and internationally.
