You might get a pleasant surprise If you get on a bus or trolley throughout San Diego today. 

In honor of the San Diego Association of Governments' support of National Rideshare Week, the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) and North County Transit District services will be free today, Oct. 2. 

Bus 83 through Hillcrest may be nearing the end of its route for good

Bus 83 runs through Mission Hills and Hillcrest.

For Hillcrest residents and employees who take public transit every day, there may be a change to a major MTS route through the neighborhood.

Bus route 83 runs from Mission Hills through Hillcrest and down Washington Street before it makes a loop up University Avenue for a short distance.

MTS introduces a stored-value Compass Card

New Compass Card feature lets you store money.

It’s finally here, a stored value function for your San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) Compass Card.

Circulate San Diego has been long campaigning to get this feature added to the card system and yesterday it finally went live.

Residents generally happy with bus, trolley service

The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) Board recently voted unanimously to approve $108 million for the fiscal year 2017 Capital Improvement Program (CIP), welcome news to several Uptown residents who depend on the regional bus and trolley system.

The local residents largely echo a random sampling by the MTS that showed San Diegans are generally pleased with the agency’s work.
