Lambda Archives

Out at the Archives: A very full year

As 2015 draws to a close, we here at Lambda Archives extend our best wishes for wonderful holidays and good hopes for a fantastic 2016.

Out at the Archives: Tours, visits and events

With the help of volunteers from the community at large there has been lots more happening at Lambda Archives and much more planned!

The Center's Young Professionals Council to host evening at Lambda Archives

The evening will include a brief tour of the Lambda Archives space, followed by a short presentation featuring San Diego historical tidbits, information about the work of the Archives, and how people can get involved in this work. After the tour, participants are invited to a reception with light food and beverages in the courtyard outside of the Archives.

Come out to play with Lambda Archives tonight

The evening will include a brief history of some of the local LGBT sports organizations, a panel discussion featuring past and current league leaders, Q&A from the audience, followed by a reception with light refreshments.

Community feedback sought for LGBT arts center

Three local LGBT-affiliated organizations — San Diego Human Dignity Foundation (SDHDF), San Diego Lambda Archives and Diversionary Theatre — are seeking the public’s feedback on their plan to create San Diego’s first LGBT Cultural and Performing Arts Center (CPAC).

SDHDF purchases Diversionary Theatre building

San Diego Human Dignity Foundation (SDHDF) recently announced it purchased the University Heights-based Diversionary Theatre building, which is located at 4545 Park Boulevard and also houses Lambda Archives, for $1.2 million.

Saving San Diego’s LGBT historic sites

The Bernie Michels House is the place where San Diego's GLBT history began. Lambda Archives and SOHO hope to raise enough money to show the government that it should be recognized as a historic site, thus preserving it for future generations.
