Mardi Gras returns to Hillcrest on Feb. 28.

The huge celebration and festivities of Mardi Gras are coming back to Hillcrest on Tuesday February 28, and this year is going to be bigger than ever. Organizers are calling it the "Revival Tour." 

New 'Lunch Loop' shuttle is a free way to end Hillcrest parking stress

New shuttle takes lunchers throughout Hillcrest without parking stress.

The Hillcrest Business Association celebrated the official launch of the new Lunch Loop Shuttle on Tuesday.

Councilmember Chris Ward did the honors of cutting the ceremonial ribbon at UC San Diego Health Center. 

Without the stress of parking, people can relax and explore many of Hillcrests' businesses and eateries, keeping revenue within the community.

The winner for Shop Hillcrest for the Holidays took home a gift basket loaded with local goodies on Wednesday.

'Taste N' Tinis' kicks off the holiday spirit in Hillcrest

Hillcrest Business Association (HBA) is hosting their annual Hillcrest event called “Taste N’ Tinis” on December 8, 2016.

This neighborhood affair gets everyone in a jolly mood as they stroll various shops and restaurants around Hillcrest offering holiday inspired martinis to compliment the winter shopping season.

San Diego Planning Commission will discuss the Uptown Community Plan

On Thursday October 6, at 9 am, the San Diego Planning Commission will address their views on the Uptown Community Plan.

The results of this plan, once agreed upon, will ultimately affect the way Hillcrest develops in the future.  

Homeless decreasing in Hillcrest, but city needs to increase aid

In the last year, we’ve all seen significant changes in the number of homeless people throughout San Diego, including Hillcrest.  

Following up on complaints by our members, six weeks ago Hillcrest Business Association (HBA) engaged proactive security patrols through a private security company.  '

'Nextdoor' app user blames Hillcrest's gay bars for 'filthy' streets

One Nextdoor app subscriber has taken to the social media platform to discuss the differences between the cleanliness of Little Italy to that of Hillcrest.

He accuses Hillcrest’s LGBT bars as being the main culprit of urban decay.

Peter Cache posted his observation via his feed which is only visible to subscribers located in that part of town: Northeast Hillcrest.  

Taylor Gobar's one-star review appears to be internet extortion to a Hillcrest business: FBI contacted

One local protester Taylor Gobar uses extortion through her reviews to hold businesses hostage until they do what she says.

It's a trend, it's real, and it's unethical. It's called "Internet Defamation," and I would soon find out one person is using it to threaten a well-respected Hillcrest business into submission. 

Plenty can be said about social activism, especially in the LGBT community. If the Stonewall Riots had not happened we may have not had the freedoms we enjoy today.
