Proceeds from June 18 race will fund the erection of a 65-foot gay pride flag to serve as an emblem of pride for residents and a welcoming beacon to outsiders.
HBA’s board of directors approved vice president Nick Moede, who owns local nightclubs Rich’s and Numbers, as Moors’ successor. City Deli owner Michael Wright will serve as vice president.
HBA represents over 1,200 businesses in the Hillcrest area, acting as a liaison between the business community and the city. While doing this, HBA encourages economic development via the various events and promotions it sponsors.
