Join us for a night of original stories and illustrations from San Diego's LGBTQ and allied communities on Friday, March 5 at 7 pm.

The Stonewall Salon teams up with Write Out Loud to give a voice to older adults touching on the theme of Civil Liberties. Tune in for a unique look into a diverse set of stories shared online told in the tradition of Kamishibai (or visual) storytelling.

Through a virtual announcement on Saturday, Feb. 13, Diversionary Theatre announced some major expansion plans including the addition of a new education space, and a cabaret bar. As San Diego's only LGBTQ theater company, the organization has already reached 85% of its $2.5 million fundraising goal that will allow these changes to happen.

The Gratitude Project is Diversionary’s way of saying Thank You to the community. For a limited time, Diversionary will be accepting statements of 20 words or less about what folx in our community are feeling grateful for, and sharing them out on social media, #DTGRATITUDE. 

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, San Diego's Diversionary Theatre, like most other theater companies around the world, has had to cancel its public productions for the unforeseen future.

And now for something completely different....

A small cast delivers big audience satisfaction in the quirky “Lizard Boy, the Musical,” playing through Oct. 30 at Diversionary Theatre.

It’s a story like no other, in a show the likes of which I’m sure you’ve never seen. In any case, I can almost guarantee you’ll like it.

What is it about the movie “Nightbreed” that makes the LGBT community identify with its characters so much?

The movie based on openly gay author Clive Barker’s novella “Cabal” is an adventure fantasy with horror overtones.

Ronnie Larsen is a playwright who is well sought after in the LGBT community.

His works have been featured in every major city across the U.S.

He is known for his racy and sometimes clothes-optional works such as “10 naked Men,” “The Penis Talk Show,” and the behind-the-scenes documentary “Shooting Porn.”

Bisexuals in San Diego have a place to meet up and probably don’t even know it. It’s called Bi Bar, and organizer Dennis Slade says it’s a group that, “celebrates the positive aspects of being able to love people no matter what their gender is.”
