Del Shores made gay movie cult history in 2000, with his Texas toast sized slice of life film “Sordid Lives.” And as he continues this tale in “A Very Sordid Wedding,” we get to revisit these characters once again. And 17 years later they are just as kooky as ever.
The sixth annual Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, put on by the nonprofit organization, Palm Springs Cultural Center, will be held Thursday through Sunday at Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs.
The 14th annual FilmOut San Diego LGBT Film Festival will run from Wednesday, May 30, through Sunday, June 3, at the historic Birch North Park Theatre. This year, all events associated with the film festival will be entirely held in North Park.
Del Shores serves up these goofy characters with a healthy dose of humor, even tossing in a sweet little ending. Director Thomas McCaverly keeps everything from getting too far out there, and a good time is had by all.
