City of San Diego now prohibits all gatherings at beaches and parks

CBS 8 San Diego reports that the City of San Diego now prohibits all gatherings at beaches, parks as crowds ignore coronavirus stay at home order. 

Outdoor activities are allowed under the order, but everyone should adhere to social distancing requirements of at least 6 feet and limit gatherings to 10 or less.

Imperial Court distributes grocery store gift cards to workers affected by COVID-19

The Imperial Court de San Diego has established an emergency fund to assist local community members whose livelihoods have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Over $5,000 worth of grocery store and food gift cards have been purchased or donated for distribution to those in need.

Governor Newsom calls on all bars to close, says seniors should isolate

This afternoon, Governor Gavin Newsom called on nightclubs, bars, brewpubs, and wineries in the state to close. He also urged seniors (65 years and older) and people with chronic health conditions to isolate themselves at home as an effort to contain further spread of the coronavirus.

FilmOut San Diego postpones LGBTQ film fest

The San Diego FilmOut LGBTQ Film Festival has postponed their event until later in the fall.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak festival organizers have decided it would be best to take preventative action in light of the national epidemic. They aren't canceling the event entirely according to a statement they sent out on Thursday, they are just moving it to later in the year.
