The 13th annual South Bay Pride celebration is scheduled for this Saturday, Aug. 21.
Like a rainbow emerging after a storm, South Bay Pride is returning this Saturday, Aug. 21 following its cancellation in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers say they are returning stronger and bigger than ever.
Now in its 13th year, South Bay Pride celebrates the diverse LGBTQ+ communities in San Diego's South Bay region, which includes cities and communities like Chula Vista, National City, Bonita, Imperial Beach, and San Ysidro.
The event will take place at Bayfront Park in Chula Vista from 12 noon to 10 pm.
Participants at the free event will be able to enjoy dozens of activities, including entertainment on two stages, over a hundred vendors, multiple food options, a kids area, paddelini, and more.
Entertainers on the Electronica Stage include WORTHY, DJ Irene, DJ IDeal, Kale, Terry Jasinto b2b Rock the Discotek, Tommy Maverick, and DJ Zareen. The Live Music Stage will include performers like Marauk, School of Rock, Jennifer Corday, Tori Roze and the Hot Mess, Santana Soul, SmokeandMirrorsSoundSystem, The Gravities, Ingenue, Danielle Lo Presti and the Masses, and Make Believe Friends.
Everyone is welcome to South Bay Pride, no matter they where live, and organizers remind San Diegans that the event location is just a quick 10-minute drive south of Downtown San Diego.
