First ever Pride celebration to be held in Escondido

First ever Pride celebration to be held in Escondido

A Pride celebration will be held for the first time ever in Escondido on Saturday, July 24 from 2-7:30 pm. Escondido is the 4th largest city in the County of San Diego, located about 30 miles northeast of Downtown San Diego.

While other Pride celebrations have been held in San Diego's North County, most notably Oceanside's Pride by the Beach, this is a first for Escondido.

In 2020, the City of Escondido issued its first Pride month proclamation which was presented to the North County LGBTQ Resource Center.

The event is being organized by We The People Escondido and a GoFundMe campaign has been created to help offset costs and to ensure the event is free for all to attend.

Organizers say the event will include live music, games, food, shopping, information booths, a vigil, auctions, a dog competition, an art gallery, and more.

Escondido Pride will be held at Kit Carson Park, located at 3333 Bear Valley Parkway.
