Youth are invited to participate and hang out, meet other queer kids, make friends, gain valuable leadership and life skills.
San Diego Pride's Youth Collective will host its next gathering virtually, on Saturday, May 9 from 11 am to 1 pm.
The collective brings together LGBTQIA+ junior high and high school-aged youth in a space dedicated to leadership, professional development, and building community through interactive workshops with guest presenters from around San Diego.
Youth are invited to participate and hang out, meet other queer kids, make friends, gain valuable leadership and life skills, get connected to other youth-serving programs, and help Pride plan other youth-centered events.
The Pride Youth Collective meets every second Saturday of the month, and is currently meeting online due to safety precautions related to COVID-19.
Topics for the remainder of the year include:
- May 9: Adulting 101
- June 13: Sex Ed
- July 11: She Fest
- August 8: Back to School
- September 12: College 101
- October 10: LGBTQ+ history
- November 14: Youth Leadership Academy
- December 12: Genderbread Cookies
While Pride Youth Programs are intended for junior high through high school age LGBTQIA+ youth, adults are encouraged to spread the word about this program so that as many youth as possible are able to get connected.
