This week there was a lot of entertainment news including the announcement that RuPaul finally gets the coveted guest-host spot on Saturday Night Live. Speaking of Mama Ru, the cast of Drag Race season 12 was also announced. 

Locally, two of San Diego's most recognized gay artists, Joe Phillips and Erik Benson are having an art sale on January 30. 

As far as this week, Rich's Nightclub is being overtaken by swashbucklers on Saturday and transforming into a pirate's den for Shipwrecked, the popular annual themed party that's sure to shiver your timbers.

Two trans women took justice into their own hands after being harassed by two male customers at a restaurant according to a YouTube video. In the clip, the women are eating peacefully at their table when a man in a green shirt suddenly jumps in to sit next to a blonde woman eating her meal and mocks her in Spanish, "I’d like to sit with a lady.”

A bill in Missouri, if passed, could mean that any library official who decides to hold a Drag queen story hour without approval from an elected parental review board might get fined more than $500 and spend up to a year in prison.

Over the past weekend Vice President Mike Pence made a trip to Memphis, Tennessee where he gave a few words at the homophobic Holy City Church of God in Christ during their Sunday service.

The San Francisco 49ers beat the Green Bay Packers and made history over the past weekend. Assistant coach of the 49ers Katie Sowers, 33, will take the team to Super Bowl LIV in Miami on Feb. 2 to go up against the Kansas City Chiefs. 

Along with her victory goes the title of the first female coach and the first openly gay coach to do so.
