San Diego City Councilmember Chris Ward invites the community to his next "Coffee with Councilmember Chris Ward" on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 9-10:30 am. This particular coffee event will be held in and focused on the Normal Heights neighborhood, but everyone is welcome.
At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with Councilmember Ward and his team about issues affecting Normal Heights as well as the City of San Diego. Ward will also provide updates from the City Council and discuss items that are affecting the City as a whole.
Councilmember Ward was elected to the San Diego City Council to represent District 3 in 2016. Council District 3 includes the San Diego neighborhoods of Balboa Park, Bankers Hill/Park West, Downtown, Golden Hill, Hillcrest, Little Italy, Middletown, Mission Hills, Normal Heights, North Park, Old Town, South Park, and University Heights.
Ward is currently not seeking re-election to his council seat as he running to replace Assemblymember Todd Gloria who represents State Assembly District 78. Gloria is a mayoral candidate for the City of San Diego.
Of Ward's accomplishments since being elected in 2016, most recently his team was responsible for spearheading the "Creative Crosswalks" program in the City, which will allow up two uniquely painted crosswalks in each council district. The first such crosswalk was unveiled last week in Hillcrest, as a rainbow crosswalk was painted on Normal Street at University Avenue near the Hillcrest Pride Flag.
The Community Coffee on Saturday, Feb. 8 will be held at Dos Palmas Cafe, located at 3562 Adams Ave. in Normal Heights.
