This week in the news we got word that Chick-Fil-A was going to clear up their image and stop giving money to anti-LGBT charities. Conservatives were not happy and accused the chain of caving to the LGBT bully mob.

Also this week, the community took time to remember those we have lost in the transgender community for Transgender Day of Remembrance.

In social and entertainment news Kidd Madonny is taking over Rich's with an out-of-this-world party, and Turn announced they are having their first-ever event in San Diego with the Glow Party.

Dallas Texas was the site of a Straight Pride event over the weekend, but only three supporters showed up and two were from Boston according to the LGBT publication Dallas Voice.

Major fast-food chain Chick-fil-A will no longer give money to anti-LGBT charities they say.

And it didn't take long for conservatives to publicly denounce Chick-fil-A saying they caved to the pressure of the LGBT "bully mob."

As part of Transgender Awareness Week, a group of community activists organized a new event, the T.E.A. Awards and Trans After Party, held on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Gossip Grill.

The National Center for Transgender Equality sent out an open letter explaining why so many people are leaving the organization, here is an excerpt: "Over the last decade, it’s been abundantly clear that members of the executive team hold an inconsistent and irreconcilable view of how to make the organization itself a strong social justice movement — including recognition of a union and steps needed to ensure NCTE itself is an equitable place for people of color, people with disabilities, and other marginalized members of the transgender community."

Rev. Irene Monroe discusses Whitney Houston being outed (again) by her longtime friend Robyn Crawford seven years after Whitney's death: "The media was accusing her of having a bisexual relationship with her assistant, Robin [sic] Crawford. Since she was the American Sweetheart and all, that didn’t go too well with her image. …In Whitney’s situation, the only solution was to get married and have kids."

Also, it's time to think about the holidays and the community. "Our community is strong and brave. We know how to pool our passion and resources to ensure that none of us is left behind," says López in his weekly newsletter

Our theater critic reviews the latest offering at the Tenth Avenue Arts Center: "Count on Backyard Renaissance to go all-in with whatever play they choose to present. This time it’s “American Buffalo,” David Mamet’s 1975 meditation on crime and the price that capitalism exacts on the human soul."

It's just a week until Thanksgiving and the gayborhood is already stuffed with great things to do. A Flicker mainstay is celebrating a birthday and the queens at Rich's are gearing up for round seven at Drag me to DIVAS. All of this and more in this week's edition of Out& About

The San Diego music scene is about to shine brighter than ever on Friday, November 29 as Turn presents their first-ever San Diego event: Glow Party which debuts at Queen Bee's Art and Culture Center.
