Diversity and Education
The transgender community is incredibly diverse. Some transgender people identify as male or female, and some identify as nonbinary, genderqueer, agender, or somewhere else outside the gender binary. This training will leave you with a greater level of understanding of transgender & nonbinary identities, as well as offer better competency with using gender-neutral pronouns. Transgender & Nonbinary Identities: A Community Training and Panel at the LGBT Community Center will focus on the differences and similarities we all share as a part of the community.
Speaking of Equality
The Fight for LGBT Rights at the LGBT Community Center will be an opportunity for you to socialize with supporters of LGBT rights while learning about efforts (both inside and outside the courtroom) to protect and defend transgender community members. Our featured speakers are Melissa DeLeon, Equity Staff Attorney for the ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties and Deja Cabrera, Transgender Services Coordinator for the San Diego LGBT Community Center.
