The week started out with a scary situation at a Palm Springs LGBT bar.

Nationally, headlines blew up after actor Jussie Smollett was cleared of all charges in his fraud case. Then in entertainment news, we spoke with up-and-coming country star Cameron Hawthorn and celebrated wrinkled trans flags everywhere.

Here are those stories and everything else we covered this week at SDGLN:

Reports came out of Palm Springs about a shooting which occurred early Sunday morning at Toucan's Tiki Lounge, a local LGBT bar.

Oscar winners Jennifer Lawrence and Adele were looking to have some fun last weekend and patrons at the Pieces LGBT bar in New York's Greenwich Village, watched as the duo did as everyone else was doing; having a great time.

Actor Jussie Smollett, who stood accused of staging a hate crime and filing a phony police report, was cleared of all charges on Tuesday reports CNN.

The trans flag is being displayed at high-profile government offices all over the country to commemorate International Transgender Day of Visibility on March 31, but some are not focusing on the wave of support, but rather its unkempt appearance.

The tiny nation of Brunei is being accused of human rights violations by Amnesty International for criminal laws that will go into effect on April 3.

The San Diego Police Department is reporting that a 7-Eleven in Hillcrest was robbed early Thursday morning.

The mother of a middle-school student is calling for the termination of two teachers who she says teased her son suggesting he's a homosexual.

At the Stonewall Riots, our community unleashed our strength, fought back against societal and institutional violence, and then continued honoring that moment year after year, building a global movement on that rebellious foundation. Special Delivery, a free nutrition services nonprofit organization serving people with AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses such as heart disease, cancer and kidney disease in San Diego, has received a grant in the amount of $5,000 from the Rob Benzon Foundation, announced Ruth Henricks, executive director.

Cameron Hawthorn is getting his first taste of real fame. Not too long ago he released the video for his song "Dancing in the Living Room" that made headlines because it was also his national coming out story.
