Back in January of this year, University of Pennsylvania pre-med student Blaze Bernstein (pictured left), 19, was found dead in a shallow grave at Borrego Park, CA., police are now saying that it was a hate crime

San Diego Police report that a man was killed after being run over by a car entering a Hillcrest parking garage on Friday morning.  

A gay student who thought his dreams of going to the prestigious Georgetown University had been dashed has received a full scholarship thanks to the kindness of the university and people who donated to a GoFundMePage.

A gay couple in Columbus, Ohio filed a complaint with the U.S. Postal Service after they claim the delivery person called them a "fa**ot" during a verbal altercation. 

At Tuesday’s meeting of the Chula Vista Council, city officials presented a proclamation declaring Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, to be LGBTQ Day in the city. The date coincides with the annual South Bay Pride Art & Music Festival which will be held at Chula Vista’s Bayside Park.

San Franciscans and their LGBT visitors are going to feel a void in their adult entertainment options this month as the historic Nob Hill Theatre will shutter its doors for good.

An estimated 137,000 transgender people who have transitioned will be eligible to vote in the November 2018 election in states with strict voter ID laws, but an estimated 57%—approximately 78,000—of them may not have identification or documentation that accurately reflects their gender.


Fort Lauderdale, FL August 7, 2018—For many lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people, LGBT community centers are a critical and sometimes the only local source of targeted social, educational, and health services. A new study shows these centers are often understaffed, underfunded, and under-resourced, yet they serve more than 40,000 people each week and provide targeted referrals to nearly 5,500 people. 


AIDS Walk & Run on Saturday, September 29, will gather the community together to raise funds in support of individuals affected by HIV. This year they are also implementing a "This Is Me" campaign, a social media campaign to help educate people and destigmatize those living with HIV. 


The director of the 1999 gay romantic comedy "Trick" announced this past Thursday he is making a sequel to that film. Jim Fall posted on Facebook, "So this is in the works for 2019....... just in time for the 20th (!!!) anniversary of TRICK next year. Cher's first album in five years isn't one of original music, but a tribute to ABBA and we couldn't be more excited. She dropped the first single off the album, “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" today on YouTube. 


Hillcrest CityFest is celebrating 35 years as San Diego's ultimate summer art and music festival. The event takes over 5th Avenue from noon to 11 pm on Sunday, August 12, with music, food, DJ's, arts, crafts, and thousands of people still glowing after another record-breaking San Diego Pride. A friend to the community, Joshua Robertson-Tucker (pictured left), is asking for help after his family suffered a devastating fire to their home on Sunday. His parents Dave and Rhonda Tucker lost their 19th century restored farmhouse in Parma, Idaho. 

An 87-year-old Hillcrest resident was brought safely back home after being reported missing on Monday.

Blossom is a Terrier/Mix, female approximately 2 years old that is looking for a new home and she can be adopted from the San Diego Humane Society
