The second transgender woman to be killed in Cleveland in four months was reported on Sunday, making her the 14th killed in the U.S. since the beginning of 2108. 

Former Log Cabin Republican head R. Clarke Cooper has been nominated by Donald Trump to a top position at the State Department for political and military affairs.

Interstate 5/Genesee Avenue Interchange Project, which has been under construction for three years officially opened on June 29 with Senate President Pro Tem Toni Atkins, Assemblyman Todd Gloria and San Diego City Councilwoman Barbara Bry in attendance for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Although the Trump administration didn't officially recognize June as Pride Month, the number of Pride festivals around the country and the world seemed to be all the validation the community needed. But this year also brought with it plenty of detractors who challenged "LGBT Pride," suggesting also a "Straight Pride Mont" such as Vice Mayor Ted Hickman of Dixon, Calif.

Pride month came to a close in the Philippines with a message of hope and forgiveness this past weekend, the apology coming from a Christain group who attended a Pride parade near the capital city of Manila. 

San Diego shows its pride in many big and colorful ways and this year Rich’s Nightclub is taking that premise to a new level with a huge new “Pride” art installation that's not only a statement on its own but something the community is literally gathering around.  

Conservatives in Ohio are pushing for a bill that would make teachers and other school officials blow the whistle on students who want to be recognized outside of the gender they were assigned at birth. 

Jackson Sugrue, 19, of Framingham, Massachusetts is being charged with a hate crime after allegedly holding another man hostage for four days, beating and starving him.

The San Diego Pride Music Festival is loaded with talent this year, every stage filled with the best in the business including the iconic girl group TLC. On Saturday future pop icon Kim Petras will take the stage and she tells us that she can't wait to explore America's Finest City for Pride.

Social media has become a place for people who don't agree with you to report your page in hopes of taking it down. Whether the checks and balances are fair or not is yet to be determined, but Instagram has already apologized twice recently for removing content that someone reported as offensive.

It was announced this week that Scarlett Johansson would be making another controversial movie role decision just a year after she was criticised for starring in the movie "Ghost in the Shell" which was accused of  "whitewashing" and "gaybaiting." This time she's slated to star in the biopic Rub & Tug about an infamous Pennsylvania trans man named Dante “Tex” Gill.

Season 7 Drag Race contestant Trixie Mattel is being scrutinized for cracking a racist joke during a roast a few months ago. According to Queerty a video of the performance appeared online this week.

Are you ready to shift your San Diego Pride nightlife experience into OVERDRIVE?!

Impulse San Diego is a non-profit organization raising awareness of safe-sex education among San Diego's gay community and they are now boarding passengers for Flight No. 69, with nonstop service to San Diego Pride 2018 as they present Mile High Club pre-Pride event.

Hillcrest is gearing up for Pride 2018 and the rainbow can be seen throughout the neighborhood. That includes the University Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) on Cleveland Avenue which has festooned its facade pillars with the colors of the rainbow. 

If this year’s San Diego Pride theme is “Persist with Pride” then Irene Meza-Herrig and more than 100 other women are doing it full throttle with the San Diego Women Motorcycle Riders (SDWMR) contingent. Each year this large caravan of bikes leads the parade with their bone-rattling pistons firing with pride, and it just keeps getting bigger.  

The Porto Vista Hotel had one of the best viewing spots to watch the Big Bay Boom firework display this past Wednesday.

It's a defining moment which honors not only the people in uniform but the years of activism and legislation that forged the way for a more tolerant armed forces we see today.


Pride night is coming to Banc of California Stadium when the Major League Soccer (MLS) team Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) takes on the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, June 30 at 5 pm.
