East San Diego has a significant role in the current government immigration crackdown. Images in the news are showing distraught children separated from their parents at the U.S. – Mexican borders. Here's one shelter in El Cajon that helps kids through a difficult time. 

Under pressure from his own political party, family members and public opinion, President Trump signed an executive order that desists in separating families at the border as a result of his zero-tolerance policy against illegal immigration.

LE Parties ended their five year run of signature poolside Pride events at the Lafayette Hotel in 2017. But recently there have been some allegations from LE Parties founders John Joseph and Michael Swenson that the historic Lafayette Hotel has appropriated their Pride event this year after the hotel ended their contract with them saying they "were going in a different direction."

Get ready San Diego, the Pride of Hillcrest Block Party is back, and this year it's a free event. The celebration is presented by iHeart Media and San Diego County Credit Union and is inclusive adhering to the theme: “Find Your Home Here.” This will kick off San Diego Pride immediately following the Spirit of Stonewall Rally.

Lambda Archives and The San Diego History Center have partnered up to bring the first-ever exhibition focused on the local LGBT community. Called LGBTQ+San Diego: Stories of Struggles and Triumphs, this rare glimpse into San Diego's queer past makes its debut on July 8, 2018, and runs until 2020. 

Joe Whitaker knows how to throw a party and San Diego Pride is no exception. This year he and Man Upp are bringing back the very popular adult male party DILF to The Rail to kick off the weekend on Friday night.


This week The City of San Diego started a summer program to feed kids aged 18 and under at parks, recreational centers, and schools all around the City. There is no paperwork or identification required.
