Volunteers not only make the festival more fun, they are the key to its success.
Last year San Diego Pride broke the record for attendance and it couldn’t have gone as smoothly as it did without the help of the many men and women who volunteered their time.
San Diego Pride has just announced volunteer registration is now open for this year’s festival.
Volunteers are the keys to success because they help plan and execute the festival parade as well as other events and related programs.
Over 1,000 people with all types of strengths and skill sets are needed for over 30 different departments including parade logistics, festival support, entertainment, medical assistance and more.
The San Diego Pride festival is the city's biggest one-day and two-day civic event which relies on the many hands, minds, and hearts of the community to be successful.
“Pride is a volunteer-led organization and no event we do is possible without volunteers,” said Pride Programs Manager, Bob Leyh. “Many volunteers come back year after year because of the great sense of giving back to the community and relationships developed at Pride.”
Volunteers who complete one 5-hour shift are entitled to a free Pride Volunteer t-shirt, complementary two-day admission to the festival, an invitation to our annual volunteer appreciation party, and access to our volunteer village within the festival.
Volunteer shifts are available starting on Wednesday, July 11 through Monday, July 16.
