NEWS

A Texas newspaper has taken it upon itself to alter an obituary which mentions a gay man’s spouse because of the publisher’s religious reasons.

You have probably seen the pictures on social media which show brightly colored dockless bicycles left abandoned on the sidewalk, heaped high in a mass of metal or just taking up public right-of-way in San Diego. Coronado has deemed them a public nuisance

San Diego Sen. Toni Atkins (D-San Diego) made history this past Wednesday when she is sworn in as the California Senate’s 48th President pro Tempore, the first woman and first lesbian to hold the top seat in the Senate.

Two brides used their livelihood in big box retail to help them with their wedding last weekend. They had it in their store's garden department. 

The San Diego Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a suspect wanted for sexual assault in the Hillcrest area.

When Sen. Toni Atkins was sworn in as the 48th President of the California State Senate she made history as the first woman and member of the LGBT community to be elected to this powerful position. Nicole Murray-Ramirez was there.

 In a letter sent out to San Diego media organizations, San Diego Pride congratulated Sen. Toni Atkins on Thursday for making history as not only the first woman to become California State Senate president pro tempore, but the first lesbian to do so. They also implored the community to get out and vote. 

CAUSES

Over sixteen years ago LGBT ally and grandmother Linda Childers and San Diego City Commissioner Nicole Murray Ramirez thought it would be nice for there to be a children's Easter Egg Hunt where all children would be welcomed especially children of GLBT parents, friends, families, and allies. This year they could still use your help. 

ENTERTAINMENT

This week is filled with plenty of excitement around the community as winter officially comes to an end. Jinx Mirage takes you "Out & About" with all there is to do including a White Party kickoff event you don't want to miss. 

Ru Paul’s Drag Race All-Stars season three was probably the most controversial entry into the Emmy-winning series to date. BenDeLaCreme offers all the tea on that controversy in a long Facebook post. 

The culinary diversity led by world-class chefs continues to grow in Hillcrest as the long-awaited chef-to-table, Italian eatery Maestoso opened on Monday, March 5, at The Hub. The restaurant has taken over the former Napizza location.

For those who may have missed it, Vice President Mike Pence’s daughter released a children’s book this week about his family’s pet bunny, but it was a gay parody of that book that hopped to #1.

San Diego favorite David Hernandez was back in town for  "Soul Sessions" at Martinis Above Fourth.

The White Party Palm Springs is an annual gay event that contains so much fun and so many surprises ticket options sell out quickly, and this year is going to be epic with international music icon Kylie Minogue. SDPIX presents the White Party Kickoff at Rich's this weekend.
