This popular event sells out almost every year and it's for a great cause!
If you haven’t yet gotten your tickets for Tantrums & Tiaras All-Star edition which happens this weekend, there is still time, plus there are a limited amount of standing room tickets now available say organizers.
Tantrums & Tiaras is an annual amateur drag event which raises money for The San Diego LGBT Community Center (The Center). It brings together popular local service industry members who have little to no drag experience on stage in front of hundreds of people, all in an effort to take the crown.
This year’s contestants are:
Erik representing #1 Fifth Avenue
Kirby representing Flicks
Madison representing Rich’s
Grant representing Mo’s
Rob representing San Diego Eagle
The fundraiser sells out pretty quickly each year, which means thousands of dollars get raised and put back into the community.
Last year a whopping $59,000 was gathered from contributions made at the event and on stage as fans throw paper money to their favorite performing contestants.
Attendees should stock up on cash when they come out to see the show. It's a tradition to hurl bills of all denominations on stage toward their favorite queens.
Donations can also be made by check throughout the night which will get you a shout out (and some shade) from Mistress of Ceremonies Babette Schwartz.
Tantrums & Tiaras 2018: All-Stars is on Sunday, February 18 at the Observatory North Park starting at 6 pm. This is a 21 and over event.
