Mayor Faulconer announced that Comic-Con will stay in San Diego through 2021, but says the convention center should be expanded. 

In West Hollywood, a trans woman says she is discriminated against and banned from some straight clubs. Also, California's state attorney general says hate crimes are on the rise in the state for the second year. 

A man who ordered Uber in Mexico was attacked by local taxi drivers, he says for using the service. Back in California, a couple who relocated to Portland and got nasty vandalism painted on their car saying to "Move Back." 

The Fourth of July lit up the skies around San Diego at these locations

A man tried to abduct a young boy in broad daylight in the canyon area of City Heights. 

A La Raza group is attached to disturbing flyers around Little Italy saying they are slowly killing the white race. 


UC San Diego has been named as one of the top 10 best public universities for LGBTQ students. The campus was also praised for its inclusion, intersectional learning opportunities and critical gender studies major.

During Pride month this year, many corporations embraced the LGBT community despite the conservative backlash. GLAAD reports that many of these companies even donated a part of their proceeds to LGBT causes.
