Todd Gloria, who was elected to the San Diego City Council in 2008, has moved on to bigger things. He was sworn in as California State Assemblymember earlier this week. Chris Ward will take over Gloria's city council seat on Monday.

Some in San Diego's LGBT community are concerned about a couple of things: Another conservative Christian billboard has appeared over Hillcrest; and a large gay conversion therapy conference is coming to San Diego. By the way, loopholes in California's conversion therapy law are sizable.

Some good local news: San Diego Pride will give $80,000 to LGBT serving non-profit organizations.

Three trans women identified as victims of Oakland fire.

Presidential transition news: Trump says Obama helped him with cabinet appointees; and climate change skeptic, Scott Pruitt, to head to EPA.

In other news: Walmart settles class action suit over same-sex married employees; Governor Pat McCrory concedes to Roy Cooper in North Carolina; religious business owners sue- they don't want to film gay weddings; an Arkansas judge rules birth certificates can only name biological parents; and The National LGBTQ Task Force releases a report on the transgender community that has some devastating data.


The San Diego Pride Board of Directors has released a statement.
