Get ready for the one night when the stars of the San Diego LGBT community come out as The Nicky Awards return for their 41st year.
This prestigious event will be held on Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley.
Organizers had to postpone the show until later this year to find a new awards venue after a snafu happened with the original one.
Called the “The Gay Academy Awards of San Diego,” The Nicky’s recognize those in the San Diego LGBT community who make an impact with their outstanding achievements.
The gala is always a night of entertainment, fun and social engagement with many local politicians and officials attending the affair in a show of support.
Nominees are chosen by the public and once they are annouced at the nomination event on Oct. 3, you can vote for your favorites HERE.
Allan Spyere, President of the Board of Governors, said in a statement, “We are planning a fun and exciting 2016 Nicky Awards with outstanding entertainment, and of course red carpet interviews."
Former Governor Gray Davis said in the past, “The Nicky Awards celebration is a tribute to the men and women of San Diego’s LGBT community.”
The 2016 Nicky Award Nominees will be announced next week.
Tickets for the Nicky Awards are $60.00 for general admission and $85.00 for VIP admission.
Tickets and tables are on sale now.
Special emcees for the 2016 awards will be Benny Cartwright and comedienne Miss Pearl of “America’s Got Talent” fame.
Nicky Awards Nomination Night will be Monday, October 3, at Martinis Above Fourth.
Doors open at 6:30 pm. and the presentation begins at 7 pm.
The 41st Annual Nicky Awards will be held on Sunday, November 13, at the Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley located at 950 Hotel Cir N, San Diego, CA 92108
THe VIP party will begin at 5:30 pm, Red Carpet at 6 pm and the event at 7 pm.
