SAN DIEGO, California -- The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus (SDGMC) is looking to grow its leadership team and has invited community members to apply to serve on the organization's board of directors.
SDGMC currently has over 150 singing members and the organization participates in over 50 community events annually. As a non-profit organization, SDGMC relies on its three annual concerts to generate revenue. Chorus leaders say those concerts only generate about half of their operating costs with the rest generated through community philanthropy, community partnerships, fundraisers, and grants. Individuals who are committed to growing the organization and helping it reach new heights are currently being recruited for the board.
Those with experience in development, grant writing, human resources, public relations, music, community outreach or marketing, or have an interest in learning more about this opportunity are encouraged to apply.
