San Diego Pride board of directors elects new officers

SAN DIEGO, California -- San Diego LGBT Pride has elected new officers for the 2015-17 term.

First term co-chairs Romer De Los Santos and Tiffany Gonzalez were re-elected to a second term. Jaime Carrillo will continue as board secretary and current chair of board development, Steven Kilgore, was elected as the the organization's new treasurer.

San Diego Pride says that De Los Santos is an experienced project manager and comes with strong institutional knowledge having previously served as the chair of board development, chair of policy and strategic planning, and board secretary. Gonzalez, a Navy veteran, previously served in the chair of board development.

Carrillo works in non-profit management, is an advocate for access to healthcare, and has been key in driving forward the organization’s long term strategic plan. Kilgore, is one of Pride’s newest board members, current chair of board development, and is an Air Force veteran.

"I am honored to have been elected as treasurer and I will help us strive to be the transparent organization the community deserves," Kilgore said.

"I’m excited to build on the progress we have made together in stabilizing and growing the organization,” Gonzalez said after the elections held during the August board meeting.

“This executive committee is an experienced, well-balanced and cohesive team,” De Los Santos said. “We are focused on helping Pride achieve its strategic objectives and mission to foster pride in and respect for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities locally and globally.”

The board of directors of San Diego LGBT Pride invites the community to attend the Post-Pride Town Hall scheduled for Monday, Sept. 8 from 6-8 pm at The San Diego LGBT Community Center's auditorium, located at 3909 Centre St. in Hillcrest.

Community members are also invited to Pride's monthly board meeting held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6 pm at the San Diego Pride office located at 3620 30th St. in North Park.
