SAN DIEGO – In an effort to encourage members of the LGBT community to vote in today’s mayoral election between David Alvarez and Kevin Faulconer, The San Diego LGBT Community Center’s #EqualityVoter project is hosting a number of Get Out The Vote activities, including an election night celebration.
Community members are invited to a party at Commonwealth San Diego, located at 1263 University Ave., to enjoy drink specials, the company of other equality voters, and to watch the election results come in starting at 8 pm.
Volunteers have been out in the community over the last few weeks encouraging community members to vote – no matter how they choose to vote – to ensure that those who believe in equality cast their ballot.
While there will be celebrations and results watching parties in downtown and other places hosted by the individual candidates and their supporters, this party is open to all and will not celebrate any particular candidate. Everyone is welcome to the party, and those with an “I Voted” sticker or mail ballot stub will receive happy hour pricing all night long.
