SAN DIEGO -- All women interested in joining the San Diego Women's Chorus (SDWC) for the first time are invited to attend SDWC's New Member Orientation event on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 4 pm. The orientation will be held at Mission Hills United Church of Christ, which is the same place where the chorus rehearses.
During the orientation, interested singers will receive information about SDWC and how to join the chorus for the new season, as well as get a little taste of the music SDWC has performed during the last couple of concert seasons. SDWC rehearses Sunday afternoons from 4-7pm in Mission Hills and is preparing for its winter concert "Light Up the World," to be held Dec. 7-8.
SDWC is a non-audition chorus that welcomes all women, however all new singers will be voiced. Voicing is not an audition, but rather will only help us know if you can match pitch to piano, learn about your previous musical experience, and help place you in the appropriate singing section (Soprano 1, Soprano 2, Alto 1 or Alto 2). No preparation is required.
SDWC invites all women of all skill levels to sing in the chorus. Reading music is a plus, but not a requirement. The chorus only asks that its members have a love of music, be able to match pitch with the piano and have a commitment to participate and further the mission of the San Diego Women's Chorus.

The first rehearsal for the Fall 2013 season will be held Sunday, Aug. 25 at 4 pm.
