GSDBA luncheon will honor annual business award winners

SAN DIEGO -- The Greater San Diego Business Association (GSDBA), which represents more than 800 member businesses that support and are a part of the LGBT community, will hold its annual Business Awards Luncheon to salute the award recipients on Thursday, June 20 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

The guest speaker will be San Diego Mayor Bob Filner. The winners will be profiled at the luncheon where Jeff Gelder will function as the master of ceremonies.

Along with their outstanding achievements, the individuals, companies and organizations are acknowledged for demonstrating excellence and mastery in business or profession and upholding the values and business success for which GSDBA stands. They openly support issues and provide services that benefit and enhance the health, spirit, pride and diversity of LGBT individuals and the community. They are involved with associations and political issues or community-wide causes that contribute significantly to one or more local LGBT organizations.

The winners have been determined. Awards will be presented in the following categories to these 7 companies, not-for-profit organizations, and individuals:

GSDBA Business of the Year: Bair Financial Planning, Marci Bair

Principal GSDBA New Business of the Year: Wang’s North Park

Non-Profit of the Year: Imperial Court de San Diego

Community Leadership Award: Todd Gloria

Corporate Partner of the Year: Wells Fargo

Corporate Diversity Leader: Comerica

New this year is the State Farm Insurance Good Neighbor award. It is given to an iconic member of the LGBT Community as nominated by GSDBA members and selected by State Farm Insurance. The Good Neighbor award goes to someone seen as a beacon of light focused towards the LGBT community. This person is dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT Californians, has a high moral compass, and always does the right thing. The 2013 premier State Farm Good Neighbor award goes to Robert H. Gleason, CFO & General Counsel of Evans Hotels.

GSDBA Business Awards Luncheon tickets are available in a variety of prices, including: Event Champion Table (table of ten), $2,500; Event Hero Table (table of ten), $,1000; Leaders Circle Table (table of 10), $750; individual tickets are $60. Onsite event parking is $3.
