SAN DIEGO -- The ongoing recession has created financial challenges for millions of Americans. Whether it be due to a job layoff, loss of retirement income or other fallout, Assemblymember Toni Atkins wants her constituents to know that help is available.
Atkins has partnered with the Association of Credit Counseling Professionals and the San Diego County Identity Theft Resource Center to present a Financial Wellness Workshop on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10 am to noon. Attendees will hear from a panel of experts about a number of financial topics, including:
• How to stay on budget when times get tough
• How to use credit wisely
• How to know when a debt management plan is the right option for you
• How to monitor for, and guard against, identity theft
Also, one-on-one personalized counseling services will be provided on a space available basis to provide participants with an individual review of their credit reports, and to discuss concerns about identity theft.
The free event is open to the public and will take place at the Hilton Gaslamp Quarter Hotel, 401 K St.
