Do your part: It's Adopt-a-Cat Month

SAN DIEGO — In honor of National Adopt-a-Cat Month, the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA is launching a campaign during the month of June to find homes for the cats and kittens in the shelter’s care.

Under the fairytale theme of “Furrytale Endings,” the San Diego Humane Society is waiving adoption fees during the month of June for its fairest felines – senior cats (ages 7 and older) and cats that have been in the shelter’s care for more than 90 days.

“National Adopt-a-Cat Month falls right in the heart of kitten season. Spring and summer months are the high season for breeding, so we see hundreds of neonatal kittens each year that need the around-the-clock care provided by our Paws Kitten Nursery,” said Dr. Gary Weitzman, president and CEO of the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA.

“Every animal that’s adopted makes space for another animal that’s in need of care, so our goal is to help all animals find a home as quickly as possible.”
