NATIONAL CITY, Calif. -- More than 30 area employers from the automotive industries, healthcare services, hospitality sector and maritime industries are expected to attend the City of National City’s first regional “Career Pathway to Success” Job Fair on Thursday, April 5.
The job fair, hosted by the City of National City, the National City Chamber of Commerce and the South County Career Center, is open to all job seekers who are encouraged to bring resumes and dress to impress.
“National City is taking a proactive approach to reducing the City’s high unemployment rate," said Jacqueline Reynoso, president/CEO of National City Chamber of Commerce. "This job fair is a workforce development vehicle to get National City residents back to work, regain their buying power, and contribute to our local economy."
Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to potential employers, network and obtain career information. Free resume review, career services, educational workshops and volunteer opportunities will also be offered.
"We are excited to help provide this opportunity for individuals and businesses alike to have the very best ‘tools’ in their ‘toolbox,’” Mayor Ron Morrison said.
Confirmed employers offering jobs in high-demand industries include Promise Hospital, Scripps-Mercy Hospital, Continental Maritime, Pacific Ship Repair, US Navy, US Customs, Pacifica Host Hotels, The San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld.
Educational resources from Southwestern College, the Small Business Development Center and Vet Works will also be available.

The job fair will take place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, 140 E. 12th Street in National City.
