SAN DIEGO -- After a busy year of participating in activism, equality and social justice work, the San Diego Alliance for Marriage Equality (SAME) is ready to celebrate the holidays.
The group will host a holiday social and year-in-review party on Friday, Dec. 9, from 7:30 to 10 pm at Bamboo Lounge. SAME members hope that the community will come out and celebrate with them, while learning about the group's work.
SAME was founded in 2008 after the passage of Proposition 8. The group is committed to fighting for LGBT rights and social justice, including marriage equality.
A diverse lineup of entertainment has been planned for the evening and will include music by Joshua Napier and Karim Assaf, spoken word by Felicity Bradley, a performance by the San Diego People's Revolutionary Choir and a surprise drag act.
A slide show, "The Year in Activism," will be shown, and a 50/50 raffle hosted by Glitz Glam will be held.
Drink specials will be available for guests of the party all night long, including $3 Sapporo and Bud beers, and $5 sangria.
A donation of $5-$20 is suggested for admission. For more information, click HERE.
Bamboo Lounge is located at 1475 University Ave. in Hillcrest.
