SAN DIEGO -- For gay men who are looking for a fun social outlet outside of the bar and nightclub scene, Balboa Park will be the place to be this Saturday, June 25, as MPower San Diego presents the "Gay Gaymes."
The event, which will take place from noon to 5 pm near the volleyball fields on the west side of the park along Sixth Avenue, will include five fun games in which participants will compete in teams of three.
Scheduled games include: tug-o-war; a drag relay; the Tiara Toss; Three Way legged race; and the Waitress Race.
At the end of the games, any teams that are tied will participate in a tie-breaker water balloon toss.
Prizes will be given to the first-, second- and third-place teams.
MPower San Diego is a social group that aims to empower gay, bisexual and curious men to become agents of change within their community. The group hosts weekly and monthly social gatherings so its members can create a safe-zone to build supportive social networks, encourage healthy behaviors and discuss issues affecting the community.
The group says that its events are always free or very low cost and open to anyone who wishes to participate.
Those who wish to get more information about the Gay Gaymes or to register should contact Jacob at (619) 515-2578 x 2998 or by email at email@example.com.
Participants should arrive at 11:30 am to register and look for the rainbow flag and MPowerSD banner. A BBQ meal will be provided at the conclusion of the event.
