While President Trump remained silent this year in announcing June as Pride month, California legislation was working hard to make it official in the state. California Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill on Monday that establishes June as Pride month, reportedly the first such official ordinance of any state in the nation.

But this year also brought with it plenty of detractors who challenged "LGBT Pride," suggesting also a "Straight Pride Month."

A 10-year-old boy died of suspicious circumstances last week and The Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services says they were aware of alleged abuse prior to his death. They also revealed that he “liked boys” in a statement.

A woman who says she was annoyed with a mother/daughter team selling water on the sidewalk in Northern California made viral celebrityhood when a video of her calling police reached over 6 million people. 

The alleged whistleblower's name is Alison Ettel, but many have now dubbed her with the hashtag #PermitPatty because of her actions against the young girl. 

Bomb threat cancels The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles matinee performance

Bomb threat called into box office cancels afternoon performance of Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles.

The Alex Theatre in Glendale, California was evacuated due to a bomb threat on Saturday. The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles was performing at the theater but were moved to safety along with guest star Leslie Jordan just a little after the 2 pm curtain. 

Bay area drag performer beaten just a little distance from SF Eagle

San Francisco drag performer attacked just outside of gay bar.

San Francisco Police are advising people to walk in groups after a popular drag performer named Ginger Snap, née Tim Tait, was attacked by an unknown assailant after leaving the San Francisco Eagle on June 8.  

His injuries were severe enough to require stitches to his forehead, blacken both of his eyes, and break one of his front teeth.
