San Diego Pride cancelled for 2020.

San Diego Pride has made the difficult decision to officially cancel its outdoor festivities this year due to the coronavirus.

The celebration was scheduled to take place on July 17-19, but new directives from Governor Newsom to reduce crowd gatherings this summer were paramount in Pride organizer's decision to drop the celebration for 2020.

San Diego Mayor’s update on City’s response to COVID-19 and decision to close all beaches

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – All city beaches from San Diego to Carlsbad will remain closed Tuesday as San Diego County officials urge residents to practice social distancing to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

Mayor Kevin Faulconer ordered the closure of all city-owned beaches, parks and trails on Monday, and said violators could face fines and jail time.

On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, the Board of Supervisors will be taking action on a Board Letter introduced by Vice-Chairman Jim Desmond and Supervisor Kristin Gaspar to defer payment of fees collected by the Department of Environmental Health from March 1, 2020 through August 30, 2020 for restaurants and bar businesses impacted by the Health Order.

UC San Diego, Manufacturers Ramp Up Coronavirus Testing Capacity

SAN DIEGO, CA — UC San Diego Health and UCSD School of Medicine Friday announced that the university's Center for Advanced Laboratory Medicine is significantly ramping up testing for COVID-19, projecting a capacity to complete 1,000 to 1,500 tests per day within two to three weeks.
