Proceeds from the event benefit local organizations that provide HIV/AID services.
Organizers of Red Dress Party San Diego (RDPSD) announced yesterday that their event last month raised $50,000. The event was held Saturday, Sept. 18.
The Red Dress Party is an annual event in which participants to celebrate - while wearing a red dress - and raising money for local organizations that serve the HIV community.
RDPSD returned this year for an in-person event after going virtual in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The $50,000 fundraising total was a combination of contributions from sponsors and individual donors, and raised almost as much as the event did in 2019, which was the event's biggest year.
Over the 7-years the event has been held, the combined funds raised is now $230,000.
