She replaces Angela Montague-Kanish, who leaves SDGMC after 7 years with the Chorus.
San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus is pleased to announce that Ayanna Connor has joined our staff as Operations & Relationship Manager. In this new role, Ayanna will be responsible for the day to day administrative operations of the chorus as well as managing vendor, audience, donor and subscriber relationships.
Ayanna joined the Chorus in 2019 as a member of our Operations team, the “fifth section” of the Chorus made up of volunteers who support our weekly rehearsals and other events. "Ops" also provided front of house support during our concert and outreach performances: if you have ever been to our concerts at the Balboa Theatre, you will have seen our "Ops" team at work in the lobby!
Ayanna has also just completed her term with the SDGMC Board of Directors, most recently as Director of the Operations team. Ayanna comes to her new role with the project management, administrative, business development and operations skills necessary for the continuing evolution and success of this position on SDGMC’s staff. Ayanna replaces Angela Montague-Kanish, who leaves SDGMC after 7 wonderful years with the Chorus. Angela and her husband are returning home to Tennessee to be with family. Angela will continue to work with Ayanna and Executive Director Jeff Heine as a virtual consultant as SDGMC's re-opening plans continue through this fall. We hope to have Angela join us as a special guest for our holiday concert this year - so you all have a chance to see her again.
Congratulations to Ayanna Connor, and welcome to the SDGMC staff!
