The City of La Mesa updated its city hall flag raising policy at the Tuesday, June 9 city council meeting to allow for the rainbow flag to be flown.
City leaders plan to host a pride flag raising ceremony on Monday, June 22 at 1 pm at La Mesa City Hall. This will be a first for the City of La Mesa, located just east of San Diego.
La Mesa joins a handful of other cities in the region that have raised a rainbow flag over their city hall, with the first city to be Encinitas in 2019.
