San Diego Gay & Lesbian News (SDGLN) is now San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgender News (SDLGBTN)!

Launched in 2009 as a fully online news website focused on San Diego's LGBT community, this publication has always provided coverage of the wide variety of identities that exist in our community. It became clear over the years, though, that while the publication's original name never intended to make anyone in the community feel left out, words matter, so we have decided to change our name to better reflect the community as a whole.

The addition of the "B" (bisexual) and "T" (transgender) to this publication's name cements our decade long commitment to providing fair and balanced coverage, and a platform for all members of the LGBTQ community, no matter how they identify. Our team works hard every day to create content that highlights all members of the community, while sharing issues that affect all, too. Like any publication, our small team tries their best every day to get it right, but we always welcome feedback and suggestions from our readers if there is anything we are missing or could do better.

The website's transition has been completed, with our updated SDLGBTN logo prominently displayed across the site, and the web domain updated. While older stories may still reflect SDGLN branding, especially in bylines, all content going forward will be branded as SDLGBTN. We will continue to scour the site to identify any other instances that may have been missed where SDGLN branding needs to be changed to SDLGBTN.

"While we have always included the B, T, and beyond in our reporting, we also recognize that our logo and domain were outdated and I'm thrilled that it will now be a better representation of who we are and what we cover," said Publisher Johnathan Hale of the transition.

Readers can now access the website via sdlgbtn.com, although for those who may have the old sdgln.com domain bookmarked, it will re-direct to the new link for ease of access. And of course, SDLGBTN can be followed on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for notifications about the latest updates and breaking news.

We look forward to continuing to provide coverage of the important news, issues, and events that affect the entire LGBT community, and appreciate your readership and support.
