There is no word on why the bar has suddenly closed.
What promised to be an exciting crazy Texas-style nightlife bar in Hillcrest has suddenly walked off into the sunset this week.
The World Famous Tin Room in Hillcrest has closed for good after only three months in the historic neighborhood.
This sister bar to the one in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas, TX opened with great fanfare this past December. Crowds of local club-goers, including local officials, lined up to attend its grand opening.
Lonzie Hershner and his wife have owned the brand since 2002 after Lonzie's brother Marty, the original owner, passed away in 2002.
"We are all very excited to become apart of such a beautiful community," Lonzie told SDGLN in December.
The location of The Tin Room, 3683 Fifth Avenue, has seen some moderate success in the past. The craftsman style bungalow once housed The Brew Project and then Project Brew.
SanDiegoville reports that rumors circulated about Tin Room owners leaving the location this week, leaving building owners in search of a new tenant.
There is no word on what will happen to the staff members who worked at the bar, some having moved across country to help open the San Diego location.
Tin Room owners have yet to make public why the bar has closed.
