The Alex Theatre in Glendale, California was evacuated due to a bomb threat on Saturday. The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles was performing at the theater but were moved to safety along with guest star Leslie Jordan just a little after the 2 pm curtain.

TMZ reports that the Los Angeles Police Department cleared the venue during the opening number after the threat was called into the box office. The Emmy-winning actor was on stage at the time as was quickly escorted off.

Bomb squads and police cordoned off the entire block and allowed K9 units to sniff out any potential threats.

The matinee was canceled but the 8 pm show will go on if authorities make the all-clear.

“The good news is that everybody is safe,” said Executive Director of the Gay Men’s Chorus Jonathan Weedman. “And the Glendale Police Department is sweeping the theater.”

 This is a developing story.
