You’re probably going to have to find your afternoon coffee elsewhere today. If you go to Starbucks you may find it closed because they are taking part in a nation-wide anti-bias training program at 2 pm.

The coffee giant has not had the best year in public relations. Last month police were called to a location in Philly after a manager reported that two black men were in his store not buying anything. It turns out they were just waiting for a friend.

In another case, a manager wouldn’t let a black man use the restroom.

And in another, an employee write a racial slur on a coffee cup.

Starbucks made an announcement via Twitter about the training day:

“For several hours this afternoon, we will close stores and offices to discuss how to make Starbucks a place where all people feel welcome. Thank you for your patience and support as we renew our promise to make Starbucks an inclusive gathering place for all. See you tomorrow.”

Not all stores will participate, only the non-franchised ones and they will not reopen for business until tomorrow.

The company suggests using the store locator to find out which locations are participating.
