Police need the public's help in finding Hillcrest sexual assault suspect

The San Diego Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a suspect wanted for sexual assault in the Hillcrest area.

The attack happened on Wednesday, March 14 at about 11 pm on University Avenue when the female victim, according to CBS 8, entered a vehicle she mistook for one she requested.

Police say the driver of that vehicle sexually assaulted the woman before releasing her. She then called the police.

An investigation is currently underway.

The perpetrator is described as a Hispanic male, about 40-years-old with a receding hairline and a mustache.

The vehicle was described as being a dark-colored four-door sedan.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
